Myra

Hello!

Meet Myra.

Myra has lyme disease.  As many of you know who have been tracking with Myra’s story, she has been pursuing healing since 2015.

THE BACK STORY

In October 2016, Myra moved to Los Angeles after 5 years of painting earthy and shimmering works in NYC, and 5 years of stunning everyone in her path with radical generosity. Unfortunately, she moved into a mold-infested, toxic-chemical-laden apartment in Los Angeles where it only took 3 days to wreak havoc in her body. Within a few hours, Myra was sick and within a few days she was completely immobilized.

After weeks of seizures and paralyzing fatigue, Myra was forced to fly to her parents’ home in Atlanta to seek medical care. Since then, Myra has nearly exhausted her medical options in search of healing all over the continent. It was confirmed that Myra had contracted Lyme Disease while directing an artist residency program during the summer of 2015, which had significantly weakened her immune system. It was also discovered that Myra has a genetic predisposition making her particularly vulnerable to mold exposure, and making recovery unusually difficult. In addition to Lyme Disease, Myra has been diagnosed with various Lyme co-infections, severe insomnia, and a host of other diagnoses that are symptoms of these root issues.

Myra relocated to Joshua Tree, California in the fall of 2019.  She chose Joshua Tree because of the climate, cost of living, artistic community, and the leading of her spirit.  However, this has come with several difficulties. She was able to purchase a home there just before the pandemic, but found out after the fact it had water damage and mold that her realtor had not disclosed. That home has been repaired and sold, putting her in immediate need of healthy safe housing. There have been significant changes with her medical care throughout 2024, and she needs to find a more equipped medical practice to continue her care. It is time to reevaluate her condition and explore any possible new insight, new diagnoses, and new healing modalities. The decline cannot continue. Myra is now at a crossroads with her health and housing needs, and is looking to you all for support as she works towards healing, hope, and a home.

We fully believe that God is using this to “make all things new” and bring restoration to Myra’s life in an even deeper and fuller way than we imagined. Please consider donating in one of the above ways!
